The awards were presented during the International Packaging Conference held in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The event was attended by government representatives, international institutions, academics, associations, brand owners, and packaging converters. This year’s conference highlighted the theme “Best Approach for Sustainable Business” and emphasized in fastening circular economy through synergy among all stakeholders related to packaging.

The inaugural PEFC Forest Positive Packaging Award honors packaging solutions that exemplify the use of PEFC-certified materials, reflecting a strong commitment to safeguarding forests, sustainable sourcing, and recyclability. As an eco-friendly manufacturing facility located in Cikande, Serang, Banten, LamiPak operates with PEFC Chain of Custody certification, ensuring that its aseptic packaging originates from sustainably managed forests in compliance with the Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) and PEFC standards.

“At PEFC, we are committed to promoting sustainable practices throughout the forestry supply chain. Our sponsorship of this award at the Packindo Star Awards recognizes and celebrates Indonesian companies leading the way in sustainable packaging. By choosing PEFC-certified materials, businesses ensure their packaging solutions have a positive environmental impact on the world’s forests,” said Wikkie Netten, Market Engagement Manager, PEFC Asia-Pacific.

Meanwhile, the Sustainable Packaging Award is assessed through five key criteria: the social impact of the package, the benefits to communities, the materials which use renewable resources, source reduction by minimizing material usage, energy reduction from efficient usage, and recovery. LamiPak’s LamiPure successfully met all these criteria, reinforcing the company’s dedication to advancing packaging solutions that not only meet industry needs but also support global sustainability goals.

“LamiPure represents the next generation of aseptic packaging,” said Ahmad Rizalmi, PR Manager of LamiPak Indonesia. “By removing the aluminium layer replaced with a Bio-PE layer, LamiPure is designed to be more recyclable and able to reduce carbon emissions. Produced under the PEFC Chain of Custody certification and supported by our One Pack One Code system, each package can be transparently traced across the entire value chain. This demonstrates our strong commitment to creating positive impacts for society, the environment, and the packaging industry."

These achievements reflect LamiPak’s role as a forward-looking industry leader, continuously innovating to deliver environmentally responsible packaging solutions while supporting the circular economy.
